Fall Activities: August - October

Experience the best of Colorado Rocky Mountain adventure in autumn (recently listed as one of the Top 15 Things to Do in Idaho Springs)! We have plenty of activities for young adventurers, families, corporate groups, retreats, camp groups, couples, and those who want to experience the great outdoors together!

*Walk-ins for activities are accepted (availability may vary). We ask that guests arrive 30 minutes before activity start times to avoid traffic.

Drive the Rockies

Experience the thrill of treking through the mountains in a new 2023 Polaris Sportsman 1-Seater ATV with friends and family! Choose between a 1 or 2 hour tour through the Rocky Mountains.

Age Limit: Drivers must be at least 18+ years old with a valid driver’s license

Mandatory Clothing Requirements: Must wear long pants, long sleeve shirt, and over-the-ankle/ close-toed shoes. Must bring shatter-proof eye protection. *IF Clothing Items Are Not Brought For The Trip It Can Be Cancelled With No Refund Issued 

Start Times: 9am, 1pm, *4pm (1 or 2 Hour Tour Options Only)

Max: 14 ATVs Available per Start Time

ATV Tour for DRIVER-ONLY (Single):
    • 1 Hour: $145
    • 2 Hour: $195 
    • 3 Hour: $229

TERRAIN: The switchbacks to get up the mountain are ROCKY. There are large boulders and you will be guided on how to maneuver around them. There are also some sections that get close to the edge of a cliffside. Once you get to the top of the mountain it opens up to more flat terrain with mud puddles in some sections. The trail can be dusty so we recommend wearing sunglasses for protection. *In winter the road also becomes icy and is more of an intermediate ATV trip. 

Drive the Rockies

Experience the thrill of treking through the mountains in a new 2023 Polaris RZR XP1000 with friends and family! Choose between a 1 or 2 hour guide trip on a nearby mountain trail.  

Polaris RZR Tour: 4 People Per Vehicle (1 Driver, 3 Riders)

Age Limit:

  • Drivers: Must be at least 18+ years old with a valid driver’s license (NOTE: Each trip must have 1 dedicated driver per RZR the entire trip -No switching drivers)
  • Riders: Dependent on Size -Around 4.5ft (Must be able to sit upright in seat with feet touching the floor) 

Mandatory Clothing Requirements: Close-toed shoes and must bring shatter-proof eye protection. (Long sleeves and long pants recommended). *IF Clothing Items Are Not Brought For The Trip It Can Be Cancelled With No Refund Issued

Experience a beautiful, leisurely whitewater rafting trip down the Upper Colorado River taking in the surrounding wilderness. It’s a slower pace and more of a leisurely float, so being along your camera for some amazing shots as you wind your way through a canyon and see the surrounding wildlife. If you’re lucky you might just catch a shot of a bald eagle or a deer! 

Lunch/Drinks are included with the trip and it usually lasts from 9am start time to 4pm return time. 

Age Limit: 4+ Years Old (at least 50 lbs)

Rapids: Class I and II

Start Time: 9am-4pm (3 hour drive time included)

Price Per Person: $119

*Note: Upper Colorado Rafting Float is NOT the same as active rafting on Clear Creek. Guests are shuttled to the put-in at the Pumphouse Campgrounds about 1 hour and 30 minutes from our adventure park.

Raft & Camp: Turn it into an Overnight Trip

Why just raft when you can Raft & Camp? Experience a 2 to 3 day journey down the Upper Colorado River while camping in the surrounding wilderness! Trips depart Day 1 at 9am and return around 1pm on the second or 3rd day. 

Age Limit: 4+ Years old (at least 50 lbs)

Start Time: 9am (1 Night or 2 Night option)

Price Per Person:

  • 1 Night /2 Day Trip: $399 
  • 2 Night/ 3 Day Trip: $599

*Food/Drinks, Sleeping Bags, and Tents provided. Let us know if you have any dietary restrictions.

Beginner Fly Fishing or Spin Cast Fishing trips! Fish in the area include natural, non-stocked cutthroat trout, natural-spawn brown trout, and rainbow trout.

*Guests 16+ years old must have fishing licenses before time of trip.  (Fishing licenses can be purchased Online HERE)

Take a guided mountain climb on our Via Ferrata going up over 200ft!

Age Limit: 12+ Years Old

Start Times: 8:00am or 11:30am

Duration: 2 hours

Price Per Person: $129

Take an advanced climb and hike up the mountain on the advanced Via Ferrata section going over 1000 feet high! Then hike down the mountain and learn about the local gold mining history of the area!

Age Limit: 14+ Years Old

Start Time: 10am

Duration: 3-4 hours

Price Per Person: $199

Runs May 17th – October

Take an advanced climb and hike up the mountain on the advanced via ferrata section going over 1000 feet high! Then ride on a 1 hour RZR Tour through the mountains!

Age Limit: 14+ Years Old

Start Time: 10am

Duration: Between 4-5 hours

Price Per Person: $279

*This package does not include Driving a 4-Seater RZR, only Riding. A guide will drive the RZR.

Native Jeeps

Have a fun adventure driving a Jeep on a guided tour through mountain trails! Trips leave from our park and there are serval trail options to choose from. Native Jeeps is hosted onsite at Lawson Adventure Park!

Take a tour at one of the best gold mining sites in the area (located just 6 miles from our park!) The Phoenix mine started in 1870 and you can walk through history and see the evolution of the mining practice in one that has been operating for half a century.
